Villas near Avithos Beach
The Beach
Avithos is the closest proper sandy beach to Korianna House — an 8-minute drive down the hill from the villa. Shallow, sheltered water at one end, deeper swimming at the other, and a single taverna right on the sand that does grilled fish and cold beer through the afternoon.
For families it's the obvious choice. The bay is calm most days, sunbeds and umbrellas are reasonably priced, and the drive is short enough that you can pop down for a swim before lunch and head back up to the pool by mid-afternoon.
From the villa the route is signposted via the road through Karavados. Parking is free directly above the beach. There are public toilets, a small kiosk and the taverna — and very little else, which is the point.

Wildlife
Loggerhead turtles nest on Avithos Beach
From May to October, Avithos is a protected nesting site for endangered Caretta caretta sea turtles. Volunteers patrol the beach at dawn, and if you visit in late summer you may see hatchlings making their way to the water — a quiet miracle that happens just minutes from the villa.
